Warhammer 40000: Leviathan set revealed

Warhammer 40000: Leviathan set revealed today at Warhammer Fest 2023! What a glorious day for any Warhammer fan, or any miniature painting enthusiast. New miniatures look amazing (as most things coming out from Games Workshop these days) and we’re going to have a look at them. As usual, if one would like to go straight to the main article, here it is:https://www.warhammer-community.com/2023/04/29/warhammer-40000-leviathan-whats-in-the-box/

Detailed information about new Warhammer 40000: Leviatan boxed set, provided by the manufacturer, Games Workshop. Photo of the miniatures, and a list of additional items available inside.

What's inside?

The main focus has to be put on astonishing number of 72 perfectly painted miniatures. There will be 25 Space Marines and 47 Tyranids, all new sculpts. Apart from that, if You order the box You’ll receive a core rulebook, mission deck, and Space Marines transfer sheet. Our miniature painting studio will most likely order one or two copies apart from sets our clients will order. Let’s take a look at some of the studio’s favourite miniatures that will be available in this box.

New miniatures

The Space Marines will have to wait until we talk about this beauty – Screamer-Killer! Classic Carnifex variant is finally resculpted to match modern standard, and what a resculpt it is. Huge, imposing, utterly terryfing monster rampaging across the battlefield in it’s full 4-armed glory. We strongly hope there will be at least some cosmetic options available in the kit.

If there’s one thing GW excels at, it’s the characters. This new Terminator Captain is yet another nod to the older sculpts of his kind – stalwart heroes wearing the heaviest armor set a Chapter has to offer. Well, at least until he gets critically woulded and ends up being a Dreadnought. Speaking of which…

New Primaris Dreadnought variant - Ballistus Dreadnought, specialised for long-range support fire. Here we see it having both missile launcher and twin lascannon arm. Miniature by Games Workshop

The Ballistus Dreadnought seems to be another variant of Redemptor chassis, introduced during 8th edition of Warhammer: 40000. This one seems to be kitted exactly for long-range combat. Both missile launcher and lascannon arm means that this bad boy will be able to take down heavy targets. Such as the aforementioned Screamer-Killer, perhaps. But there’s yet one more miniature that captured our eye, one that has been revealed previously.

Lieutenant in Phobos Armour, new lieutenant variant for Space Marines faction. His armor is partially fixed using parts from felled Tyranids. Miniature by Games Workshop.

We’re sure that our miniature painting service will have lots of fun painting this chap. Lieutenant in Phobos Armour has been revealed previously, but it is totally perfect for him to take his place as one of the studio’s favourite. His make-shift armor patch made from Tyranid chitin is a perfect example of ‘adapt to survive’ rule. Heavy nods towards the older Space Marine sculpts, like Tyranid Wars Veterans are clearly visible here. And this ‘blood’ dripping down his blade – brutal!

Conclusion

With all of the above miniatures and information revealed to us, we sure can’t wait to snatch ourselves a few copies of this set. Let us hope that this time, there will be enough for all that would like to purchase it. We’ll be back with more news once they his, and until then, head over to our website and order yourself a full set of those miniatures painted by our talented team of artists.
